Link building is the key to any successful SEO strategy, there are many ways to go about it as well. Like many I'll be using Google's rarely used but very powerful search tools.

I've found some excellent backlinks by finding blogs and posting GOOD COMMENTS, no spammy ones! If I catch you spamming blogs I'll write you a mean letter.

Past the below code into google and see what happens.

inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "change me to your topic"

Wow, that was easy, thousands of blogs needing comments, finding the higher PR ones work best.

Explained:

inurl: searches for text in a specific url, you're looking for blogs

Then we also removes some results that are closed or are no longer accepting comments.

Then lastly add in your topic of choice, happy link building!
